The «Santa Teresa de Jesús» Chair of Women’s Studies, at the «Santa Teresa de Jesús» Catholic University of Ávila, is a place oriented towards the study, research, training and outreach of studies, works and scientific contributions about women. It is a chair of studies because it aims to investigate, from various disciplines, the current status of women, to strengthen feminine aspects in our culture and to propose improvements to social deficiencies.
The Chair is inspired by an objective, integrating and harmonious personal understanding of women, and aims to promote a positive vision and behaviour of reciprocal cooperation between women and the realities that surround them, especially in the family, cultural, educational, health, labor and social fields.
The work of the Chair is oriented in an interdisciplinary way, covering Anthropology, Ethics, History, Art, Sociology, Health Sciences, Pedagogy, Literature, Theology, Law and Economics.
